TIPS: Mirror for Symmetrical Model in Pro/E Wildfire

Users who practice surface modeling method always create half model of the symmetrical part and apply mirror feature for the other half. As for Pro/ENGINEER, most of the users started as solid modeler and used to mirror the features instead.

This tips show you how to create a mirror feature to complete another half of a symmetrical model. We are using a mobile phone model as the example.

After you have done half of your part, select the top level of model’s model tree in Pro/E.

Next, click the mirror tool and the mirror feature dashboard appears.

Your model’s display should looks like the image below by now. The system is asking you to select a plane for the mirror feature.

Once you select the mirror plane, the Pro/E light weight preview will appear. This give you a rough estimation of you final model.

Hit the check mark  in dashboard to commit the part mirror.
