TUTORIAL: Swept blend in Wildfire3.0 (ext-sketches)

TUTORIAL: Create swept blend using external sketches in Pro/E Wildfire3.0

Version: Wildfire3.0 only 

Swept blend feature is now been modernized in Wildfire 3.0.It is now comes with dashboard and interactive preview. The new GUI consolidates all the feature types together which includes of protrusion, cut, surface, surface trim, thin protrusion, thin cut, and thin trim. Sections selection and modification also become flexible and interactive. 

Download the example file here to proceed with the tutorial.

1. Open the sweptblend_start.prt

2. Click Insert > Swept Blend tool from the menu or click the Swept blend icon swept blend icon. Swept blend dashboard will appears on the display.

3. Read the message at the message area. The system prompts you to select the trajectories for the swept blend feature.

4. Next, expand the sections tab in the dashboard. Change the Sketched Sections to Selected Sections. (External sections are already created in the tutorial file)

5. Select the 1st section from the display.

The selected section is highlighted in red. Besides, the start point & direction also been indicated in the display.

6. To select the next section, you can click the insert button in the section tab or you can also get it from the pops-up menu from RMB.

7. Now, Select the 2nd section from the display.

8. Repeat the step no. 6 & 7 to insert the 3rd and 4th section. By now, you should get the light weight preview in your display.

9. Notice that the last section is being twisted. You can change the start point by simply drag the start point to the desired position.

10. The final model should looks like
