TUTORIAL: Pro/E Wildfire Variable Section Sweep – Multiple TrajectoryVersion: Pro/E Wildfire, Wildfire 2.0 and Wildfire 3.0 Pro/E Wildfire Variable Section Sweep feature can be created thru a few trajectories. Sketch by reference to the points on the trajectory will updates its shape thru sweep accordingly. This tool is very useful when you are handling some complicated / advanced surface. The main objective of this tutorial is helping you to understand the work flow of Variable Section Sweep. A simple part file has created for this quick tutorial. Download the tutorial file here (multiple_traj.zip) before begin. 1. Extract the downloaded file and open multiple_traj_start.prt
2. Click Insert > Variable Section Sweep from the menu or the 3. Click the sketch icon 4. Entering the sketch mode, vertex (intersection between trajectory and sketching plane) is marked with small yellow cross. These vertexes should be used as the reference for your sketch. 6. In Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire, light weight preview for the Variable Section Sweep appears in the screen. The default section is always normal to the trajectory which is indicated with arrow. 7. Now, we will need to change the Section Plane Control on the Variable Section Sweep dashboard. Change the setting to Constant Normal Direction. 9. The section plane is now constantly parallel to the TOP datum plane. Images below are the Pro/E Wildfire light weight preview and the final variable section sweep surface in shaded mode. You can open the multiple_traj_done.prt from the downloaded file to get the completed feature.
