TUTORIAL: Creating a flat surface in proE Wildfire

Versions: Wildfire, Wildfire2.0, Wildfire3.0

Flat surface is a planar surface created from closed boundary sketch. It is also called as Fill feature in Pro/ENGINEER. Flat surface is using the modernize interface since Wildfire version. Dashboard will appears when you hit the Fill Tool and you can choose to use either external sketch or internal sketch to create a Flat Surface.

1. Clicks file>new  to create a new part...

2. To create a flat surface, click edit> fill tool  and the fill tool dashboard appears

3. Next, press and hold the right mouse button (RMB), select Define Internal Sketch from the pops up menu.

4. Select any datum plane that you want the flat surface to be placed and then hit the sketch button or press the middle mouse button (MMB) to start the sketch.

5. Create any close-loop sketch. Please note that flat surface could not been constructed by open sketch.

6. Click the check button   to confirm the sketch. You should get the light weight preview for the Flat Surface by now.

7. Finally, hit the check button   on the dashboard to confirm the feature creation.
