TIPS: Useful System Parameters in Pro/ENGINEER Drawing

Version: Pro/E Wildfire, Wildfire2.0, Wildfire3.0

To display a drawing label indicating the model’s useful information in Pro/ENGINEER, you will need to make use of some system parameters. The tables below list down the most commonly used system parameters in Pro/E Drawing.

Symbol ‘&’ is used as the syntax to display the system parameter in a note or text field. These system parameters are reserved in Pro/ENGINEER and you are not able to create a user defined parameter using the same name.

 System Parameter Description (To Display)
 &current_sheet
 Current sheet number
 &total_sheets
total number of sheets in the drawing
 &dwg_name
 name of the drawing (.drw)
&model_name name of the model used for the drawing (.prt or .asm)
 &type
model type (for example, part, assembly, etc.)
&scale scale of the drawing (not view scale)
 &todays_date
date on which the note was created
 &PRO_MP_MASS
 Model mass
 &PRO_MP_VOLUME Model Volume

To display the user defined parameter value (tool > options), use &<param_name> in a drawing note.

Example: &description

                &modeled_by
