TUTORIAL: Convert unit for a part in Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire

Version: Pro/E Wildfire, Wildfire 2.0, Wildfire 3.0, Wildfire 4.0

This tutorial shows you how to convert the unit for a part model in Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire. To begin, open a Pro/E part file which you want to convert its unit. The part shown below was created using inch as the dimensions unit.

Click Edit > Setup from the top menu to access the setup menu manager.

In the setup menu manager, pick Units to change the part model units.

The Units Manager dialog box appears. Choose the desired units system and hit the Set button to proceed.

Next, in the Changing Model Units dialog box, pick the appropriate conversion option.

Convert Dimension – Will convert the model dimensions by multiplying the dimension value. The size of the model will remain the same after the convert dimension.

Interpret Dimensions – the dimension values will be maintained. The size of the model will be different after the interpret dimensions conversion. This option is very useful when you used a wrong part template.
